WAEC reported that 1,834,695 candidates, representing 94.05 per cent of those who sat the examination, had their results fully processed and released.
Another 116,031 candidates, representing 5.95 per cent, had results still undergoing processing when WAEC released the results.
Among the candidates who sat the examination, 1,200,514 obtained credits in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, giving a pass rate of 61.54 per cent for that benchmark.

Candidates can check their results through the official WAEC Direct result checker. WAEC requires the candidate to enter the examination number, examination year, examination type, e-PIN voucher number and PIN before submitting the request.
Follow these steps:
- Open the WAEC Direct result checker.
- Enter your 10-digit examination number.
- Select 2026 as the examination year.
- Select the examination type.
- Enter your e-PIN voucher number.
- Enter the PIN on the e-PIN.
- Click Submit.
- Wait for the result to appear.
WAEC says the 10-digit examination number contains the seven-digit centre number followed by the three-digit candidate number.

The message should go to 32327. WAEC says the service costs ₦30 and supports MTN, Celtel and Glo subscribers.
Candidates should enter the details without spaces. WAEC then sends the result to the mobile phone used for the request.
WAEC Withholds 167,486 Results Over Malpractice
WAEC withheld the results of 167,486 candidates, representing 8.59 per cent of those who sat the 2026 examination, over suspected examination malpractice.
Candidates affected by withheld results can submit complaints through WAEC’s complaint system. The council also sets a period within which candidates and schools can challenge decisions relating to examination malpractice cases.
A withheld result does not fall into the same category as a result that WAEC has yet to finish processing.
116,031 WAEC Results Were Still Being Processed
WAEC said 116,031 candidates had results still undergoing processing when it released the 2026 WASSCE results.
The figure represents 5.95 per cent of the candidates who sat the examination. WAEC said it needed to complete further work on those results before releasing them.
Candidates whose results remain under processing should wait for WAEC’s next update and use the council’s official support channels if they need assistance.
WAEC Responds To Concerns Over 2026 Results
WAEC addressed questions about the 2026 WASSCE results on August 13, 2026, following claims on social media about the examination’s results.
WAEC Public Affairs Head Moyosola Adesina said:
“Every candidate’s script undergoes a multi-tiered system of marking, moderation and auditing.”
The council said examiners use marking schemes and subject experts during the assessment and moderation stages.
WAEC also urged candidates and other concerned persons to contact the council through its established channels when they need clarification about their results.
