The Service announced that the Basic Military Training Course 47/2026 exercise would commence on September 3 and remain open for eligible Nigerians until October 14. The announcement covers recruitment into the Airmen and Airwomen categories.
The notice states: “NAF Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 47/2026 Recruitment Exercise is scheduled to commence on 3 September 2026.”
It also states: “The registration is FREE OF CHARGE.”

Eligibility Requirements
BMTC 47/2026 has separate age limits for the two categories.
Tradesmen/Women: 18 to 27 years old by March 1, 2027.
Non-Tradesmen/Women: 18 to 22 years old by March 1, 2027.
Candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth and must satisfy the prescribed medical, physical and psychological fitness conditions.
The minimum height is 1.66 metres for males and 1.63 metres for females.
The recruitment information lists educational and trade qualifications for the two categories. Trade applicants may require an appropriate Trade Test Certificate, ND or NCE, depending on the position. Driving positions require a valid driving licence.
Documents Required
The BMTC 47/2026 instructions require successful candidates to complete and print specific forms after registration.
These include:
- Acknowledgement Form
- Parent/Guardian Consent Form
- Local Government Area Attestation Form
The attestation form must be completed by an authorised signatory from the applicant’s state of origin. The stated signatories include a qualifying military officer, a police officer of the required rank, a substantive Local Government Chairman or Secretary, or a magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin.
The form also requires the applicant’s passport photograph and a photocopy of the signatory’s accepted identification document.
Candidates should not rely on document lists copied from earlier exercises. They should follow the BMTC 47/2026 instructions attached to the current intake.

The Service says successful candidates will proceed to a Zonal General Aptitude Test, followed by an interview for those who qualify. NAF has not announced the BMTC 47/2026 aptitude-test date in the current recruitment notice.

What Happens After Application?
Submitting the form only completes the online registration stage.
After the application window closes, the Service will provide information for candidates who qualify for subsequent stages. The process includes screening, the zonal aptitude test and selection interviews before final recruitment.
Candidates should keep their acknowledgement and other application documents because they may be required at later stages.
Scam Warning
The registration is free. Anyone asking candidates to pay for a form, shortlist position, aptitude-test slot, interview place or guaranteed enlistment is not following the stated recruitment process.
The Service has warned against fraudulent recruitment adverts and individuals claiming to act as recruitment agents. NAF has previously stated that it does not charge applicants for enlistment and does not appoint third parties to recruit on its behalf.
