The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) determines remuneration for political, public and judicial office holders. The published package follows the remuneration review that led to the Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) (Amendments) Act, 2008.
RMAFC began another remuneration review in 2025 and continued the process in 2026. The Commission submitted recommendations for consideration during the review process.

A Nigerian minister receives a basic annual salary of ₦2,026,400, or ₦168,866.67 per month. RMAFC also lists regular allowances for motor vehicle fuelling and maintenance, a personal assistant, domestic staff, entertainment, utilities, monitoring and newspapers or periodicals.

RMAFC places a qualification on the monitoring allowance in its remuneration schedule.

The Nigerian Ministers Salary 2026 package also contains payments that operate separately from the regular annual package.

These payments have different payment conditions. Furniture, for example, has a four-year cycle, while duty tour allowance and estacode apply to official travel.
The ₦7,801,640 regular annual package therefore should not be added to every allowance in the second table and described as a fixed annual salary.

The ₦650,136.67 monthly figure represents the monthly equivalent of that listed regular package. It does not include every payment in the wider remuneration schedule.
Is Nigerian Ministers Salary Changing in 2026?
RMAFC began reviewing remuneration for political, public and judicial office holders in 2025 and continued the process in 2026.
Reports in July 2026 said the Commission had submitted recommendations on remuneration to President Bola Tinubu for consideration.
The existing RMAFC schedule remains the basis for the figures above until a new remuneration package takes legal effect.
