After creating an account, applicants can access the application form, which contains Sections A to J.
The form asks applicants to provide details about their startup, innovation, market, team, business model and finances. Applicants can save an unfinished form and return to complete it before submission.
ECOWAS Startup Awards Eligibility
Startups based in participating ECOWAS member states can enter the competition.
Applicants must be citizens of an ECOWAS member state and operate a startup registered and based in an ECOWAS country.
The startup must have operated for at least two years, have a working product or service, and demonstrate market traction or scalability.
Application Requirements
Applicants must prepare the required documents before submitting their forms.
The application requires:
- National passport or accepted ECOWAS identity document
- Recent passport photograph
- Business registration certificate, where applicable
- Two years of financial statements, management accounts or financial projections
- Business plan of no more than 10 pages
- Pitch deck of no more than 10 slides
- One-minute pitch video
The pitch video must use MP4, MOV or WebM format and must not exceed 100MB.
ECOWAS Startup Awards 2026 Prize Money
The competition offers $65,000 across three positions:

The criteria carry a combined 100 points.
The national selection stage will provide part of each country’s allocated places, while the remaining places will come through open applications. Finalists will then pitch before an independent jury comprising industry experts, investors and policy stakeholders.

Selected startups will receive benefits beyond the cash prizes.
These include investor access through deal rooms, networking with founders and development partners, regional exposure, mentorship and a six-month acceleration programme.
