MTN Nigeria has warned subscribers about fake links offering a 25GB anniversary data giveaway as the telecoms company celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The genuine MTN 25GB anniversary data is available to eligible customers through the MyMTN NG App and MTN eShop, MTN said on Saturday.
“Please beware of fake MTN 25th Anniversary 25GB giveaway offers circulating online,” the company said.
“The official MTN 25GB Anniversary Giveaway is available ONLY via the MyMTN NG App and MTN eShop.”
Subscribers using the MyMTN App can log in and tap “Redeem Now” on the anniversary banner. Customers can also access the offer through the MTN eShop and follow the prompts to activate the bundle.
MTN said subscribers who received an SMS about the promotion can use the link in the message.
The company advised customers not to click suspicious links, submit personal information or make payments on websites claiming to offer the 25GB bundle.
MTN has not directed customers to a USSD code for the anniversary offer. Subscribers searching for an MTN 25GB free data code should use the redemption options provided by the telecoms company.
The 25GB bundle is available to eligible subscribers until 11:59pm on the stated expiry date.
“Only trust official MTN channels,” MTN said.
