Harry Kane has won the European Golden Shoe for the 2025/26 season, finishing as Europe’s leading league goalscorer and strengthening his case for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
The Bayern Munich striker scored 36 Bundesliga goals, finishing ahead of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe in the European Golden Shoe standings. Kane collected 72 points, while Haaland finished with 54 points and Mbappe with 50.
Kane will receive the Golden Shoe at the FC Bayern Museum on 19 August 2026, according to Bayern Munich.
The award marks Kane’s second European Golden Shoe after he won the prize during the 2023/24 season. He has now joined Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the only players to win the award at least twice.
Kane also helped Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga title during the 2025/26 campaign. His 36 league goals earned him a third consecutive Bundesliga scoring crown.
Meanwhile, Mbappe remains one of Kane’s main rivals for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, while Lamine Yamal also features among the leading contenders.
Kane previously discussed his Ballon d’Or chances before the 2026 World Cup.
“I’d be one of the favourites,” Kane said when asked about his chances of winning the award.
The England captain scored six goals at the 2026 World Cup, although England finished third after losing their semi-final before winning the third-place match.
The European Golden Shoe now gives Kane another major individual honour before the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony in London on 26 October.
