Cristiano Ronaldo remains away from Al Nassr after Portugal’s 2026 FIFA World Cup exit, with the Saudi Pro League season approaching fast.
Ronaldo has not joined Al Nassr since the club started its pre-season camp in Lisbon on July 19. After Portugal’s Round of 16 defeat to Spain on July 6, the captain took his post-World Cup break.
However, reports now indicate that Ronaldo will wait until Al Nassr return to Riyadh before he resumes training.
Al Nassr will finish their Lisbon camp on August 5. As a result, Ronaldo could have only a short period to train with the squad before the new season begins.
The club will face Al Fateh on August 15 in its opening Saudi Pro League match.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo is expected to miss Al Nassr’s pre-season friendly against Estrela da Amadora on August 1.
Several players have already returned to training, including Abdulelah Al-Amri. João Félix and Sadio Mané are also expected to rejoin the squad before the club leaves Portugal.
Al Nassr have not linked Ronaldo’s absence to an injury.
