Canada visa processing time for Nigerians has changed. See the latest IRCC update showing new study permit, work permit, visitor visa and super visa waiting periods for applicants travelling, studying or working in Canada.

Nigerians applying for Canadian study, work, visitor and super visas are now facing new estimated waiting times after Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released its latest processing update.

The revised figures increase waiting times for study permits, visitor visas and super visas, while work permit applications remain unchanged.

Current Canada Visa Processing Times For Nigerians

IRCC’s latest estimates show the following waiting periods for Nigerian applicants:

Compared with the previous update, study permit processing increased from six to seven weeks. Visitor visa applications rose from 64 to 68 days, while super visa waiting times increased from 41 to 43 days. Work permit applications remain at seven weeks.

Other Countries Also Recorded Changes

The Canadian immigration department also adjusted estimated waiting times for several other countries.

Pakistan experienced one of the biggest increases after work permit processing climbed from 11 weeks to 25 weeks. The Philippines also saw study permit processing increase by one week, while super visa waiting times rose from 73 days to 100 days.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s super visa waiting time fell from 196 days to 185 days.

IRCC Says Waiting Times Can Vary

IRCC said the published figures are estimates rather than guaranteed decision dates.

“Processing times are estimates.”

According to the department, application volumes, case complexity, available resources and requests for additional documents can all affect how long an application takes to process.

The department reviews these estimates every week, with the next update expected around 12 August 2026.
