INEC recruitment 2026 has started, with the Independent National Electoral Commission inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for vacancies across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12.

INEC opened positions in professional, administrative and executive categories. Applicants can apply online, submit their documents and complete the registration process before the deadline.

The available INEC jobs cover areas such as ICT, accounting, engineering, law, administration and electoral services. Candidates must meet the requirements for their chosen positions before applying.

INEC Recruitment Portal 2026 and Available Positions

Applicants can access the INEC recruitment portal through:

INEC listed vacancies under three categories:

  • Professional Cadre (Grade Levels 09, 10 and 12)
  • Administrative Officer II (Grade Level 08)
  • Executive Officer (Grade Level 07)

The Professional Cadre includes positions such as Accountant, Clinical Officer, Lawyer, ICT Officer, Engineer and Quantity Surveyor.

Candidates applying for Professional Cadre positions must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.

Some roles require professional certifications from bodies such as:

  • Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)
  • Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
  • Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
  • Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS)
  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)
  • Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
  • Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN)

Applicants must also have relevant work experience, an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and knowledge of ICT tools.

For the Administrative Officer II position, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Sciences, Humanities or Sciences.

Applicants must provide an NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion certificate and show knowledge of data management, record keeping and Microsoft Office applications.

The Executive Officer position requires a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or equivalent qualification. Candidates must have computer skills, data handling knowledge, communication skills and organisational ability.

INEC Recruitment 2026 Requirements and Required Documents

Applicants must meet these requirements before submitting their applications:

  • Must be a Nigerian citizen.
  • Must not be above 35 years old.
  • Must provide a valid certificate of state of origin.
  • Must present a medical fitness certificate from a government medical officer.
  • Must have no criminal conviction.
  • Must be ready to work in any part of Nigeria.

Candidates must upload these documents during registration:

  • Passport photograph
  • Birth certificate or declaration of age
  • O’Level result
  • ND, NCE, HND or degree certificate
  • Local government identification certificate
  • NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion certificate where required

  1. Visit the INEC recruitment portal.
  2. Create an account with personal details, email address and National Identification Number (NIN).
  3. Verify the email address.
  4. Log into the account.
  5. Select a preferred cadre and vacancy.
  6. Upload the required documents.
  7. Review the application details.
  8. Submit the form.

INEC advised applicants to confirm their selected vacancy before submission because they cannot change it after completing the application.
