Reel Love Story
Reel Love follows Tomide Jobi, a popular relationship influencer played by Timini Egbuson, whose life is disrupted after a confrontation with Rita Monday, played by T.J. Omusuku, is captured on video and goes viral.
The incident threatens Tomide’s reputation and his relationship with his audience. His team develops a plan involving a staged relationship with Rita to repair his image and attract further attention online.
The arrangement creates a conflict between Tomide’s carefully managed online persona and his developing feelings. The film examines relationships, social-media culture, image management and the pressure surrounding influencers.
Director Kayode Kasum said the production resulted from merging two separate stories developed by his team and Timini Egbuson.
