Olamide Gbenga Adedeji was born on 15 March 1989 in Bariga, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is 37 years old in 2026 and is also known as Olamide or Olamide Baddo. He is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record-label executive.
Olamide grew up in Bariga, Lagos. He developed an interest in music as a child and began pursuing music professionally around 2000.
His early influences included Yoruba music and hip-hop. He later developed a style that combined Yoruba, English, Nigerian slang and rap.
Olamide studied Mass Communication at Tai Solarin University of Education in Ogun State. He left the university in his third year because of financial difficulties.
He began his professional music career with Coded Tunes, the record label associated with producer ID Cabasa. His first major release, Eni Duro, came out in 2010. He performed the song at the Hip-Hop World Awards that year.
Music Career
Olamide released Eni Duro in 2010 before putting out his debut album, Rapsodi, in 2011. Wizkid, 9ice and Reminisce appeared on the album.
He left Coded Tunes and founded YBNL Nation in 2012. His second album, YBNL, became the labelโs first major release.
In 2013, Olamide released Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, followed by Street OT in 2014. The albums included songs such as Durosoke, Story for the Gods and Goons Mi.
Olamide and Phyno released the joint album 2 Kings in 2015. Olamide later released Eyan Mayweather the same year.
He released The Glory in 2016 and Lagos Nawa! in 2017.
YBNL Nation released YBNL Mafia Family in 2018 as a compilation featuring artists associated with the label, including Fireboy DML, Lil Kesh, Lyta, Davolee and other YBNL artists.
Olamide released the nine-track EP 999 in 2020 before putting out Carpe Diem later that year. Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, Bella Shmurda, Bad Boy Timz, Peruzzi and Phyno appeared on Carpe Diem.
UY Scuti followed in 2021, while Unruly arrived in 2023. Olamide released the seven-track EP Ikigai / ็ใ็ฒๆ, Vol. 1 in 2024 before releasing Olamidรฉ in 2025.

YBNL Nation
