Kemi Adeosun’s Husband Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun Dies at 62

Former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun loses husband Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun as family announces his death in Lagos. Here is what is known about the businessman, his family and funeral arrangements

Former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun’s husband, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, has died in Lagos at the age of 62.

The Adeosun family confirmed his death in a statement on Thursday, saying he passed away on August 5. The family described him as a businessman and Christian who valued his family, faith and community.

According to the statement signed by Reverend C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun earned the respect of those around him through his work and personal values.

“Niyi was a distinguished businessman and a devoted Christian whose integrity, generosity, and steadfast faith touched the lives of all who knew him,” the family said.

The family added that he dedicated his years to hard work, service to God and his family.

“He lived a life defined by hard work, service to God, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.”

Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun is survived by Kemi Adeosun, their children and his siblings. His relatives include Adewale Adeosun, the founder of Kuramo Capital.

The family requested privacy during the mourning period and thanked friends, associates and well-wishers who sent condolences and prayers.

Kemi Adeosun served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance from 2015 to 2018 under former President Muhammadu Buhari. She left the cabinet in 2018 after controversy over her NYSC certificate.

The family said it would announce details of Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun’s funeral and Christian burial arrangements later.
