Nigerian WWE star Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam on Saturday before receiving a strong endorsement from the former WWE champion.
The Lagos-born wrestler won their latest battle at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, taking his 2026 record against Lesnar to two victories from three matches.
Femi had earned his SummerSlam opportunity by winning the King of the Ring tournament in June. Instead of challenging for a world title, he chose Lesnar and demanded another fight against the veteran.
Lesnar had beaten Femi at Clash in Italy after Femi defeated him at WrestleMania. Their SummerSlam meeting therefore decided the series between the two wrestlers.
Femi then survived the Hell in a Cell contest and secured another victory over Lesnar.
After the match, Lesnar embraced Femi and called him “the future” of WWE while referring to himself as part of the past.
Femi said Lesnar’s gesture caught him off guard.
“The hug and public endorsement was definitely a shock, and I didn’t see that coming,” Femi said.
The Nigerian wrestler also said he had always respected Lesnar despite their clashes inside the ring.
Femi later turned his attention to Lesnar’s career, describing him as a dominant performer who had competed at the highest level for about 25 years.
He also wished Lesnar well as the veteran moved towards the next stage of his life.
Meanwhile, Femi’s victory capped a busy 2026 campaign. He had already beaten Lesnar at WrestleMania and won the King of the Ring tournament before facing him again at SummerSlam.
The Nigerian now leaves SummerSlam with another win over one of WWE’s biggest names, while Lesnar’s post-match endorsement added another notable moment to their rivalry.
