Amina Titi Atiku-Abubakar, formerly Titilayo Albert, is Atiku Abubakar’s first wife. They married in December 1971 when Atiku worked as a customs officer.

Titi’s family initially opposed the relationship, so the couple married secretly in Lagos. They have four children: Fatima, Adamu, Halima and Aminu.

Titi founded the Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation, known as WOTCLEF. She also worked on campaigns against human trafficking and child labour.

Saadatu Ladi Yakubu

Saadatu Ladi Yakubu became Atiku Abubakar’s second wife on 27 January 1979. She is the daughter of a police officer from Gombe.

Ladi and Atiku have six children: Abba, Atiku, Zainab, Ummi-Hauwa, Maryam and Rukaiyatu. Atiku later divorced her, making Ladi one of his former wives.

Princess Rukaiyatu Atiku-Abubakar

Princess Rukaiyatu Atiku-Abubakar is the daughter of the late Lamido of Adamawa, Aliyu Mustafa. Atiku married her in 1983.

They have seven children: Aisha, Hadiza, Aliyu, Asmau, Mustapha, Laila and Abdulsalam.

Fatima Shettima Abubakar

Fatima Shettima Abubakar married Atiku on 22 July 1986 after they met while she studied at Law School.

They have seven children: Amina, Mohammed, Ahmed, Shehu, Zainab, Aisha and Hafsat. Ahmed and Shehu are twins, while Zainab and Aisha are also twins.

Fatima became Atiku’s fourth wife after he divorced Ladi Yakubu. She was the fifth woman he married.

Jennifer Douglas and Atiku Abubakar’s Moroccan Wife

Jennifer Iwenjiora Douglas became Atiku’s wife after his divorce from Ladi Yakubu. They have three children: Abdulmalik, Zahra and Faisal.

Jennifer confirmed their divorce on 1 February 2022. She cited disagreements over her continued residence in the United Kingdom and other longstanding issues.

After the divorce, Atiku married an unnamed Moroccan woman. She became his fourth wife and the sixth woman in his marriage history.
