Andrés Iniesta has urged Barcelona to sign Victor Osimhen as the club searches for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has joined Chicago Fire, while Barcelona’s preferred target, Julián Álvarez, remains difficult to sign because Atlético Madrid do not want to sell him.
Iniesta told NTV Spor that Barcelona should turn to the Super Eagles striker.
“I would suggest they sign Victor Osimhen. He’s a fantastic goalscorer and one of the best replacements for Robert Lewandowski.”
The former Barcelona midfielder also said the club should sign a striker if Ferran Torres leaves, while he does not want Lamine Yamal to play as the team’s number nine.
Meanwhile, Osimhen finished the 2025-26 season with 15 goals and five assists in 22 Süper Lig appearances for Galatasaray, helping the club win the league title.
The Nigeria international also reached 50 goals for Galatasaray in 59 appearances, becoming the fastest player to reach that mark for the Turkish club.
Despite those numbers, Barcelona face a difficult financial calculation. Osimhen reportedly wants about €15 million net per season plus bonuses, while Galatasaray value him at between €70 million and €75 million.
As a result, Barcelona sporting director Deco continues to consider Álvarez, with Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović also among the alternatives.
At the same time, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Osimhen as the transfer window approaches its closing stages.
