Portable has released a new diss track about his controversial Charles Okocha rematch, criticising the referee and recounting his version of what happened during the celebrity boxing contest in Lagos.
According to Punch, the Nigerian singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, released the song days after the rematch at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island.
The bout, titled “Unfinished Business”, followed Okocha’s challenge to the result of their first meeting. He had disputed the decision and called for another fight.
During the rematch, Portable appeared to control parts of the contest before both fighters became involved in a physical struggle. The referee intervened as the situation moved away from normal boxing exchanges, while security officials entered the ring to separate the pair.
Portable then left the ring before officials announced a result. He returned after officials called him back but received a disqualification, which ended the contest.
After the fight, Portable addressed the incident in his new song. He criticised the referee’s handling of the bout and accused Okocha of trying to choke him during their confrontation. He also described the encounter as a street-style fight and suggested traditional wrestling as an alternative if Okocha wants another contest.
The rematch came after Portable’s earlier celebrity boxing defeat to Carter Efe, who beat him by unanimous decision on May 1 at the same venue.
Portable previously said he earned ₦50 million for lasting one round against Okocha in their first fight. He also claimed the payment would have reached ₦100 million if he had completed two rounds.
The new track gives Portable another chance to address the events that ended his latest boxing contest against Okocha.
