The 2026/27 Premier League season starts on Friday, August 21, 2026, when Arsenal host Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium. Kick-off is 8pm Nigerian time.

The season follows the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which ended on July 19. The final Premier League matches will take place on Sunday, May 30, 2027.

Premier League Start Date, First Match and Nigeria Time

The Premier League starts in Nigeria on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Arsenal vs Coventry City opens the season at the Emirates Stadium. The match starts at 8pm Nigerian time, with the Premier League listing an 8pm BST kick-off. Arsenal begin their title defence against Coventry, who return to the Premier League after promotion.

Manchester United begin away to Hull City on August 22 at 12:30pm Nigerian time. Liverpool visit Newcastle United on August 23 at 4:30pm, while Manchester City host Bournemouth at 2pm. Chelsea visit Fulham on August 24 at 8pm.
