Nyesom Wike Wife: Eberechi Wike, Children and Family

Nyesom Wike’s wife is Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, a lawyer and Justice of the Court of Appeal. Born Eberechi Suzzette Obuzor, she is from Odiokwu Community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Eberechi studied Law at Rivers State University of Science and Technology, now Rivers State University. She completed her LL.B. in December 1996, attended the Nigerian Law School in Lagos in 1997 and was called to the Nigerian Bar on 25 February 1998.

She began her legal career at E. C. Ukala & Co., also known as Efe Chambers, where she worked as a litigation counsel from 1998 to 2001. She joined the Rivers State Judiciary as a Grade I Magistrate in 2001 and later became a judge of the Rivers State High Court on 14 February 2012.

Eberechi later earned an LL.M. from the University of Sussex after receiving a British Chevening Scholarship for the 2005/2006 academic session. In July 2024, she was sworn in as a Justice of the Court of Appeal alongside 21 other new Justices.

Nyesom Wike and Eberechi Wike’s Marriage

Nyesom Wike and Eberechi Wike met while studying law at Rivers State University of Science and Technology. Their friendship began after Eberechi borrowed Nyesom Wike’s lecture notes. The relationship later led to marriage.

The couple have three children: Jordan Wike, Joaquin Wike and Jazmyne Wike.

Nyesom Wike’s Children

Jordan Wike

Jordan Wike is the eldest son of Nyesom Wike and Eberechi Wike. He studied law at the University of Exeter and graduated with a Second Class Upper Division in 2022. He later earned an LL.M. from Queen Mary University of London.

Jordan completed his legal training in Nigeria after returning and was called to the Nigerian Bar on 23 September 2025 in Abuja. Nyesom and Eberechi Wike attended the Call to Bar ceremony.

Joaquin Wike

Joaquin Wike is the second son of Nyesom and Eberechi Wike. He studied management and technology rather than law.

He earned an MSc in Management and Technology Change from King’s College London in January 2026. Nyesom Wike, Eberechi Wike, Jordan and Jazmyne attended his graduation ceremony in London.

Jazmyne Wike

Jazmyne Wike is the daughter and youngest child of Nyesom and Eberechi Wike. She studied law at the University of Southampton.

Jazmyne graduated in July 2026 with an LL.B. and Upper Second-Class Honours. Her parents attended her graduation ceremony in Southampton.

Jordan was called to the Nigerian Bar in September 2025. Joaquin graduated from King’s College London in January 2026. Jazmyne graduated from the University of Southampton in July 2026.

Eberechi Wike’s Legal Career

Eberechi Wike entered private legal practice after her Call to Bar in 1998. Her work at E. C. Ukala & Co. lasted until 2001, when she joined the Rivers State Judiciary as a Grade I Magistrate.

She progressed through the magistracy before becoming a Rivers State High Court judge on 14 February 2012. She later completed an LL.M. at the University of Sussex under a British Chevening Scholarship.

In July 2024, she became a Justice of the Court of Appeal. In 2026, she served on Court of Appeal panels in Abuja and delivered lead judgments in several cases.
