Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has accused some politicians of using Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to confront him during the political crisis in the state.
Wike made the claim on Saturday during a special media chat in Port Harcourt.
Wike said the Governor overestimated the politicians who encouraged him to challenge his former political allies.
“Unfortunately, they used him,” Wike said, according to Daily Post.
He said the politicians lacked the capacity to fight him and had now turned against Fubara after the governor returned to his former political family.
The FCT minister also alleged that the attacks against Fubara followed the loss of access to state resources.
The dispute between Wike and Fubara became a major political crisis in Rivers State after Fubara succeeded Wike as governor in 2023.
President Bola Tinubu later intervened in the dispute involving the two politicians and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
