President Bola Ahmed Tinubu left the primary and secondary school qualification fields blank in his EC9 form submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 presidential election.
First Nigerian reports that Tinubu listed only a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chicago State University under the educational qualifications section of the form.
The degree was obtained in 1979. He also attached his university degree certificate and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate to his nomination documents.
Tinubu’s EC9 form states that he was born on 29 March 1952 in Lagos and lists his occupation as “Politician”.
He declared that he worked for Mobil Nigeria Limited between 1983 and 1992 before serving as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
The president listed the Federal Government of Nigeria as his current employer from 2023 to date.
He also stated that he had never been dismissed from public service.
INEC published the personal particulars and supporting documents of presidential and vice-presidential candidates on Saturday as part of the preparations for the 2027 general election.
